Bring back the original brilliance and depth to your granite, quartz, or marble surfaces with our expert honing, polishing, and sealing process. Revive dull, scratched, or etched countertops to a stunning, like-new shine—without the cost or disruption of replacement.
Countertop refinishing is a professional restoration process that renews the surface of your existing granite, quartz, or marble countertops by removing light damage, scratches, etch marks, and dullness—restoring their original depth, color, and high-gloss shine. Unlike repair (which focuses on specific chips or cracks), refinishing treats the entire surface through honing, polishing, and sealing to create a uniform, flawless finish.
This service is ideal for countertops that have lost their luster from years of daily use, exposure to acids, or minor surface wear. The process involves carefully grinding away a thin layer of the stone (if needed), progressively polishing to the desired sheen (matte, satin, or high-gloss), and applying a premium sealer for lasting protection against stains and etching.
At SJL Rock Solid Solutions, our refinishing delivers rock-solid results: a beautiful, factory-like appearance at a fraction of the cost of replacement, with minimal downtime and no demolition required. It's the perfect way to refresh your kitchen or bathroom and make your natural stone countertops look brand new again.
Countertop refinishing offers a highly effective way to refresh and revitalize your granite, quartz, or marble surfaces, providing significant advantages over full replacement. It's an ideal solution for countertops that have become dull, scratched, or etched but are still structurally sound.
Dramatic Aesthetic Improvement — Restores the original deep color, brilliance, and high-gloss (or desired sheen) finish, making your countertops look brand new and enhancing the overall beauty of your kitchen or bathroom.
Substantial Cost Savings — Typically costs far less than replacing countertops, often 30-60% of the price of new installation, while delivering comparable visual results.
Removes Surface Damage — Eliminates light scratches, etch marks from acids, water spots, and general wear that daily cleaning can't address, creating a smooth, uniform surface.
Added Protection — Includes professional sealing that improves resistance to future stains, etching, and moisture, extending the life of your countertops.
Minimal Disruption — Completed in one or two days with no demolition, appliance removal, or plumbing changes—your space remains functional throughout the process.
Eco-Friendly Option — Preserves your existing stone, reducing waste and the environmental impact associated with quarrying, manufacturing, and transporting new slabs.
At SJL Rock Solid Solutions, our expert refinishing process delivers rock-solid, long-lasting results that renew your natural stone countertops beautifully and affordably. Refresh your space without the expense and hassle of replacement—choose refinishing for a smarter, stunning upgrade.
Countertop refinishing is the ideal solution when your granite, quartz, or marble surfaces have lost their original luster and show signs of surface wear, but the countertops are still structurally sound and free of major chips or cracks. Addressing these issues early restores beauty and protection while preventing further deterioration.
Dull or hazy appearance — The once-brilliant shine has faded from years of cleaning, polishing wear, or exposure to sunlight.
Light scratches or scuff marks — Visible from daily use, cutting boards, or abrasives that daily cleaners can't remove.
Etch marks or rings — Dull spots caused by acidic substances like lemon, vinegar, wine, or cleaners (especially common on marble and some quartz).
Water spots or staining — Surface discoloration or stubborn spots that no longer wipe away easily.
Before a kitchen refresh or home sale — To give your space a high-end, updated look without the expense of new countertops.
After several years of heavy use — When the factory sealer has worn off and the surface feels rough or absorbs liquids more readily.
Refinishing brings back the deep color, smooth feel, and protective seal your countertops had when new—often making them look better than ever.

Quartz & Granite Countertop Care and Maintenance Guide
Quartz:
Use a mild dish soap and warm water with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners.
Granite:
Clean with a pH-balanced stone cleaner or mild dish soap. Wipe with a soft cloth to prevent streaking.
Quartz:
No sealing is necessary. Quartz is non-porous and engineered to resist staining and bacteria.
Granite:
Granite is porous and should be sealed every 1–2 years. Test it by sprinkling water—if it darkens, it’s time to reseal.
Clean spills promptly, especially acidic or oily liquids like wine, vinegar, coffee, lemon juice, and cooking oil.
Do not allow water to sit for extended periods—especially on granite.
Always use trivets or hot pads under cookware, crockpots, or hot trays.
Sudden temperature changes can cause cracking (especially in quartz).
Always use a cutting board. Quartz and granite can scratch or dull your knives. Don’t drag pots or appliances across the countertop.
Bleach, ammonia, or acidic cleaners. Oven cleaners or paint removers. Scouring pads or steel wool
Don't stand or sit on the countertop or use the surface as a workbench or for heavy impact tasks
Use coasters for glasses—especially those containing alcohol or citrus.
Monthly deep cleaning: Use a stone-safe cleaner or a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water.
For stuck-on materials: Use a plastic putty knife to gently remove without scratching.
Your countertops are an investment—let’s help you protect them for years to come.
